What does being brave mean to you?
“ A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver for five minutes longer.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Stepping into who you really want to be, who you think you need to be takes an insane amount of courage. These steps you need to take to create the next version of yourself could be some of the scariest steps.
But what does being courageous really mean?
“Courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers the fear.”- Nelson Mandela.
If fear was off the table what steps would you be taking in your life right now? Where would you be? How would you be living? Where would you be working? Who would you be surrounding yourself with?
A great question to ask yourself is when has fear shown up in you life previously? Did I conquer my fear anyway? What was the result that came out of you conquering it? Or maybe you shyed away from being courageous and let the fear win. What did you leave on the table? What are you not doing now that you could be doing?
What are you afraid of? Are you willing to let others cast their judgements in pursuit of your happiness? They aren’t the ones living your life, only you.
Embrace the fear. Step into this courageous version of you. You have a lot to offer the world and sitting on the sidelines won’t get you there.
