10 Reasons Why You Need to Improve Your Health

  1. It’s expensive to live an unhealthy lifestyle.  Cost of health insurance is rising, cost of health related services is rising, cost of medications is rising, so the cost for you will only continue to rise. Wouldn’t it be nice to keep that money in your pocket and spend it on what you want to spend it on? The American Diabetes Association suggests that diabetics have 2.3x the amount of medical costs than someone without. Type 2 Diabetes is preventable, do your part.
  2. Slows the aging process. The amount of services, products and treatments out there to slow the aging process is astronomical. However, none of this will do you any good if you don’t start to improve what you eating and drinking. But also you need to keep that body moving .
  3. Reduces your risk of preventable diseases. Just because some preventable diseases run in your family, that doesn’t mean you are destined to also have that disease. You can take action now to reduce your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar and stress level. Medications can help reduce, but you need to do your part by exercising, eating nutritiously and getting some sleep.
  4. You can keep up with your kids/ grandkids. Do you want to be a parent that sits there and watches their child play because your weight and lack of energy prevents you from being active with them? Maybe you want to be that grandparent that takes your grandkid on a special vacation. Take care of yourself now so you can create those memories.
  5. Better sleep. Sleep, it’s such a wonderful thing…if you actually get enough. Not getting enough sleep can increase your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, stress level, anxiety, along with a multitude of other things. Establishing a good sleep routine is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
  6.  Less fear when you have a visit with your Doctor You will go in now knowing that you have improved your health and you won’t be expecting more bad news. You will feel proud of yourself for making changes, rather than shame that your health has only gotten worse over the past year because of your decisions.
  7. You can get around easier at an advanced age. Expecting your body to keep withstanding the lack of care and attention you give it is a big expectation. You will be disappointed if you think it can keep up with your lifestyle. It can only tolerate so much.
  8. Improves your energy. How amazing would it feel to actually have energy throughout your day? How much more productive would you be? You will be able to keep up with the lifestyle you want.
  9. You feel better. Your mood improves, your stress level is reduced, you feel more accomplished, you’re parenting better, you say nice things to yourself, you show up for those around you in a way you have always wanted to.
  10. Better mindset. Just think you have been wanting to improve your health and lifestyle, but it has always felt as if it was an impossible goal. What if you start putting in the work and started seeing some results? Wouldn’t that give you a glimmer of hope that you can do this?  You can create the life you’ve always wanted.
